Felt like knocking out something in color, so here are two Dragonmarked nobles from WotC's "Eberron" setting.
Total working time (including scanning) was about 2 hours. This is why I both love and hate markers; coloring is really not my strong point right now, but I really like having stuff in color and ya gotta admit this was a very fast coloring job.

I know what you mean about the markers. Although my Prismacolors have better variety and more prestige, my Crayolas don't generally have the look of scrubbing and strips in the colored picture. Is there any brand of markers out there that lays down flat color without the scrubbing/stripping/streaking? I've noticed in recent years I've been favoring the making of black and white illustrations without backgrounds, probably because the printer and/or inexpensive photo-editing software gets messed up on wide patches of any colors except black or white. "Why, yes, I MEANT to have the skin at the top of the drawing be a totally different shade at the bottom. And those streaks in the blue sky? Um, lots of planes flew over that day, uh, right before King Edward's forces lost..."
