wizard in the inn

I wanted to do a character sketch of someone who was neither young, nor the stereotypical old-guy wizard. The little familiar is a reference to an old folk saying, "If a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his backside." I have no idea what that's supposed to tell me, but I figured a winged frog was a really cool idea.
